The decentralized finance protocol Prisma Finance faced a $10 million hack attack on March 28. Blockchain security company Cyvers was among the first to notice the incident and quickly revealed the extent of the attack.
Large Fund Transactions Detected
The Prisma Finance team announced that the protocol was paused to investigate the incident. According to DeFiLlama data, the protocol has a value of over $222 million. The attacker started converting the stolen funds to Ethereum.
PeckShield announced that the attack is ongoing and losses have reached $11.6 million. Users were urged to pay attention to official announcements and be vigilant against scammers.
Scammers are on the Lookout
Beneath Prisma Finance’s official announcement, there are fake accounts attempting to mislead users with deceptive links. It was determined that these accounts have no connection to Prisma Finance.
Hack attacks in the crypto sector continue to negatively impact the industry’s credibility. By 2024, a total of $200 million has been lost in 32 different hack and rug-pull incidents. There is a significant increase compared to previous years, and a significant portion of these thefts are carried out by the North Korean Lazarus Group.
